Pure road performance

The Ultimate CF offers the same high performance and pinpoint handling as the CF SLX and CFR, using a more accessible carbon fibre. This is the bike for road races, big days in the mountains and nailing that next personal best.

Designing the new Ultimate

Canyon engineer, Lukas Birr, explains the design and development process that went into creating the Ultimate; a road bike that delivers the perfect balance. Lightweight, stiff and aerodynamic. This is our classic road race bike, evolved.

When developing the Ultimate, our goal was to strike the perfect balance between lightness, stiffness, comfort, robustness, and aerodynamics. The result? The most balanced, best-value road bike on the scene.

A fast, lightweight carbon cockpit

This lightweight, stiff aero one-piece carbon cockpit features a race-inspired design for optimal control and precision. Ergonomically optimised drops make room for a tight, locked in thumb position for extra comfort and grip. Stay comfortable, stay aero, stay fast for the long haul.

Clean cockpit cable integration

With semi-integrated cables running beneath the cockpit before entering the frame, you get the advantages of a clean, efficient front end, and simple cockpit swaps in one.

High-grade carbon layup

The CF combines the cutting-edge innovations of the SLX and CFR platforms with a carbon layup that strikes the ideal balance between durability and value. By using specially selected fibres, the carbon layup sets the benchmark in terms of toughness.

Aerodynamically optimised

On the road, from just 14 kph, aerodynamic drag is the largest force holding you back. So we optimised the frame forms for minimum drag, through an exhaustive process of wind tunnel testing in collaboration with aero experts Swiss Side. We also integrated the headtube/fork area as much as possible for extra aero gains.

A watt-saving, comfortable carbon aero seatpost

With a clean, integrated clamp design and slender D-shaped seatpost to reduce air resistance, the Ultimate delivers efficiency and comfort in equal measure. Dialing in your perfect riding position is simple thanks to independent setback and tilt adjustment.

Bike classification

Bikes of this category are designed for riding on hard-surface roads where the wheels remain in permanent contact to the ground. These are in general road racing bicycles with racing handlebars or straight handlebars, triathlon or time trial bicycles. The permissible maximum overall weight comprising rider, luggage and bicycle should not exceed 120 kg. Under certain circumstances this permissible maximum weight can be further limited by the component manufacturers’ recommendations for use. Proven cyclocross and gravel bikes with racing handlebars and cantilever or disc brakes are a special case in this category. In addition, these bikes are also suitable for gravel paths and off-road trails where a short loss of tyre contact with the ground due to small stairs or steps at a height of 15 to 20 cm can occur.
